Early Influences

— Bio

Lentz’s oldest musical memory is trying to sing like Bryan Adams performing, “Please Forgive Me” for his mother. He was eight years old, with broken English and silly performances that always put the brightest smile on his mom’s face. It was at this time that Lentz experienced one of life’s most tragic events- the loss of a parent while his mom became quiet and sad. Lentz’s father was one of Port-Au-Prince’s youngest mayors. His political ambitions to make Haiti a better place resulted an assassination outside Lentz’s elementary school. For his own safety, Lentz and his mother were under protection and Lentz was never allowed to pay his respects or visit his father’s tomb until he was an adult.

In high school, Lentz found writing allowed him to process and discharge his teenage angst. He would turn his writings into silly songs that made him laugh. Church and friends provided a musical backdrop of gospel, soul and jazz with the inspiration sounds of James Brown, Marc Anthony, and Brain McKnight. Lentz started forming bands, assisting the school choir, and at 17, his half-sister gave him his first guitar that he named Isabelle. Isabelle became Lentz’s best friend, and they went everywhere together!

Musical Experiences

In high school, Lentz wrote his first song titled, “Please tell me,” and was invited to perform at his high school graduation. In 2007, Lentz took a break from university to begin performing with well-known musicians, Tito el Banmbino, Frandy Sax & Pablito Drums, in the Dominican Republic. He became the lead singer of Bridge, created a versatile band named, Lentz Louis & Friends and began collaborating with Dug G, Legendary Dropbeats, and Baky. In the Dominican Republic, Lentz is considered the pioneer of lounge music. He has spent years performing at some of the hottest spots in New York City, Switzerland, Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

Business Experience

After music school, Lentz returned to his home country to start Haitian Fresh, a produce export business, with his cousin. This business was built and sold to the Government of Haiti. In 2019, Lentz brought his industrial design education, musical talents and business experience to JAVI USA as an Art Director and Partner. JAVI USA is sneaker company headquartered in New York City and founded by Javiar Santana, a Dominican Fashion Designer. The inspiration for the designs come from the worlds of music, art and street culture. Lentz is responsible for marketing campaign which includes his original music. Since,Voices of Hope has merged with Health Education Project (HEP).  The mission of the HEP is to save lives in Haiti by increasing access to high-quality education, creating economic opportunities, and fostering cultural and civic engagement.

What's My Motto

“I truly believe that my purpose in this world is to create an art center in my hometown. In case you wonder why I do music! I will just tell you it is not about being famous, but about living a passion and adding my stone to that safe house that is always there when we need it. I dream.”
